Based on one's starting point, ascend the MOHAWK TRAIL, one of the most scenic roads in New England. On the way up, follow the HAIRPIN CURVE to the dazzling height of the WESTERN SUMMIT overlook. A stop is made to enjoy the 100 mile view.

After picture taking and browsing at the Wigwam Gift Shop, continue via WHITCOMB SUMMIT, the highest point (approximately 2500 feet above sea level), along a beautiful scenic portion of the trail that winds through the Mohawk Trail State Forest. At Charlemont, view the famous HAIL TO THE SUNRISE MONUMENT, a memorial to the lost identity of the Mohawk Indian Nation.

Following the shores of the scenic Deerfield River, arrive at SHELBURNE FALLS. This time-forgotten village is famous for its BRIDGE OF FLOWERS, once a span carrying trolley cars and then converted into a botanical garden.

There will be time for independent exploration. The village has many art boutiques and craft shops for your group to enjoy, with the additional opportunity to view the famous geologic "pot-holes" by Salmon Falls along the Deerfield River. The return drive covers an alternate scenic route.
