CHRISTMAS IN THE BERKSHIRES

The culture hungry summer crowds have long since gone, as with the color hungry autumn "leafers".  As Christmas approaches, the Berkshires take on a different personality.  The brightness of the holiday season illuminates the Yuletide spirit.  It is a time when the old fashioned New England look becomes more conspicuous.  This is the time when the visitor friendly hospitality of the Berkshires becomes even warmer.

To celebrate the holiday season, the Berkshires lights up with gala attractions and events.  ANIMACTIONS UNLIMITED had the pleasure of organizing visits for several group tour visitors to provide an "Explorer Tour", combined with a visit to the BERKSHIRE MUSEUM'S "FESTIVAL OF TREES".  This is a celebrated annual event that draws thousands of visitors to delight and view dozens of Christmas trees decorated by various members of the Berkshire business community.

We had the joy of hosting a group of visitors from the Philadelphia area, and sharing the pleasure of viewing the exhibit.

The arriving group is welcomed by the museum staff.                          The tour escort leads the group through the exhibits.

The Berkshire Museum's "Festival of Trees" begins immediately after Thanksgiving, to conclude on December 31st.

In addition to the above, the village of Stockbridge celebrates "Main Street at Christmas" on the first Sunday in December.  The Norman Rockwell Museum, Hancock Shaker Village, the Clark Institute of Art are open year round for groups and individual visitors.
